District Leadership Resolves to Intensify School Monitoring

Ms. Janet Odongo, PAS, has called for intensified monitoring and stricter inspections of schools as part of renewed efforts to improve academic performance in the district starting with the 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

The resolution was reached during a strategic meeting with headteachers held at the Apac District Council Hall. The meeting brought together education stakeholders to assess current performance trends and agree on practical measures to raise learning outcomes.

Ms. Odongo emphasized the need for stronger supervision and accountability across schools, noting that effective monitoring will help identify gaps in teaching, administration, and learner support early enough for corrective action.

Key among the resolutions was a coordinated approach involving the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), the District Chairperson’s Office, and the Chief Administrative Officer’s (CAO) Office. The three offices will work jointly to conduct routine school visits, enforce compliance with education standards, and ensure that school leadership maintains a strong focus on academic excellence.

Headteachers welcomed the directive, expressing commitment to improved performance and closer collaboration with district authorities.

The intensified oversight is expected to strengthen education service delivery and position learners for better results in the 2026 PLE and beyond.
